LISBON CITY TOUR Book here This half-day tour allows you to discover Lisbon, capital of Portugal, colonized by many civilizations along the centuries: Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Moors and finally the Portuguese after 1147. We visit St. George Castle, including its surrounding quarter and Alfama, Lisbon's oldest quarter. This city is linked with the heroic deeds of the Portuguese maritime exploration, in the 15th and 16th centuries. This was the Age of Discoveries and the Golden Era of Portugal, transforming Lisbon into the opulent centre of a vast empire. Part of the wealth from these expeditions was used to build magnificent monuments in a unique Portuguese style: the extravagant Manueline architectural style, best typified in Jerónimos Monastery. Some of these monuments can still be seen, especially in the area of Belém. 4 hours duration, in the morning or afternoon  SINTRA and ESTORIL COAST Book here Pick-up at your hotel in Lisbon and departure to visit the town of Sintra (World Heritage Site), where you’ll do a walk through the typical historical centre. Visit to Pena National Palace, the most beautiful Romantic Palace in Portugal, Sintra National Palace ( closes on Wednesday). The journey continues to Cape Roca (the westernest point of continental Europe), passing through Colares, a route with a unique natural landscape. Departure to Cascais, passing through Guincho, where you can admire the beaches and the beautiful Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, as well as the magnificent Atlantic Ocean. Visit to the picturesque and charming town of Cascais, where we’ll do a short walk through its animated center. View of the Estoril Casino and its Gardens. Sightseeing tour along the coastal road of Estoril, one of the most beautiful and charming itineraries of Lisbon surroundings. Return to Lisbon, passing through Belém, a site with important historical monuments. Duration 5 hours, in the morning or afternoon.  ÓBIDOS Book here this Tour gives you the chance to do a real “time travel”. You will explore the town of Óbidos, considered by many as a true museum, since it is famous as one of the most well-preserved medieval towns of Portugal. Because of its genuineness, it deserves for sure, your visit. You will walk through its lovely typical streets, with the company of our personal guide. It will be for sure a moment that you’ll remember in the future! Óbidos is an essential tour for anyone who visits Portugal and it is only one hour away from Lisbon. ARRÁBIDA, SESIMBRA, CAPE ESPICHEL, SETÚBAL and PALMELA Book here  The difference between this full-day tour and the half-day tour to these destinations is that in this one, you’ll have more time to spend in each place and, also, you’ll visit and lunch in Setúbal, a city very well-known for its restaurants with delicious fresh fish! If there is a tour that we can consider as a true "sightseeing tour", this one is for sure the best example of all. You'll have the opportunity to know the zone of Arrábida's Mountains, one of the most beautiful spots around Lisbon. But it's not only scenery and sightseeing that make a tour.We will also visit the town of Palmela, where you will enter its castle and from its belvedere, you'll see Setúbal, its bay and the Tróia Peninsula. After this, we'll visit in Azeitão, the wine cellars of José Maria da Fonseca where you can learn how the wine is made and taste its famous wines. Our journey follows to Sesimbra, where we can sightsee its bay from the castle of Sesimbra. We'll finish the tour with a stop in Cape Espichel. It is truly inspiring to look at the Atlantic Ocean and the Portuguese Coast from this spot (in winter season, the afternoon visit to Cape Espichel is replaced by a visit to the piscatorial town of Sesimbra, due to the absence of sunlight). We will do a panoramic tour in our vehicle, driving by the most important monuments and places of nocturnal interest. We will include a visit to "Parque das Nações" (Nations Park), where the world exposition - EXPO98 - took place. The Nations Park constitutes today the most modern part of Lisbon, with new buildings, gardens, restaurants and places of nightlife interest. If the weather allows it, there is always the possibility of going for a walk there. Duration: 2h30m SHOPPING IN LISBON Book here Shopping in Lisbon is a rewarding experience not to be missed. In addition to many international shops and designer boutiques (mainly situated in the Baixa and Chiado), you will found a large selection of antique shops around the Rua de São Bento. Here you will find typical Portuguese furniture from 17th to 19th centuries, Indo-Portuguese art or religious wooden carvings and antique paintings. Other modern shopping centers (such as Colombo, Vasco de Gama and Corte Ingles shopping centers) are to be found all over the city. |
